Over the past 21 years, we’ve been honored to welcome over 6,000 rescue dogs into safe, loving Colorado homes. Behind every one of these dog’s stories is a journey of compassion, persistence and unwavering belief in second chances.
Farfel’s Farm, a unique dog and cat boutique, opened its doors in 2005. It was a concept imagined by owners Sandy Calvin and Jeff Richey as a unique, full-service pet boutique in downtown Boulder, Colorado focused on community, education and advocacy for the homeless pet population.
Farfel’s has evolved into a vibrant marketplace celebrating the bond between humans and their pets. Thousands of products, many locally sourced and fair traded, tell a story of respect for our Earth and a commitment to all earning a living wage. From sustainable goods such as collars and leashes woven by Guatemalan artisans to non-toxic, forever recyclable toys, Farfel’s has been a forerunner in bringing the highest quality, kind products to our canine and kitty populations.
Farfel’s Farm became Farfel’s Farm & Rescue as the need to help at-risk dogs grew. The store’s heart and vibrant energy became the foundation for an ever-expanding rescue program, forging mindful relationships with rescuers across the U.S. and beyond. This seamless blend of boutique and rescue means that every product purchased helps fund life-saving efforts and fosters a vibrant, compassionate community for both animals and their people.
No rescue program or store thrives through the efforts of one person alone. At Farfel’s, it is the combined talents, open-hearted dedication, and enduring compassion of Sandy, Jeff, Hope, and Rock that have built one of Colorado’s finest pet boutiques and animal rescue organizations. Together, the Farfel’s team has cultivated lasting relationships with shelters and rescue groups across the United States, including regions in Texas, New Mexico, and Arkansas. Farfel’s reach extends internationally as well, forming bonds with partners in Tijuana and Isla Mujeres, Mexico, as well as Santorini, Greece. These connections have allowed Farfel’s to rescue dogs from high-risk situations, provide medical and emotional care, and create new beginnings for countless dogs and families.
